Perdita Riley is facing the greatest dilemma of her life.

Why had she taken Violet Freestone’s advice on how to make herself look more alluring? It led her into the arms of a womaniser. And now Perdita has to deal with a huge setback. Actually, Setback Number One isn’t huge yet, but it won’t be long before it is.

To cheer herself up, Perdita goes shopping, where an extraordinary encounter deposits her, literally, into the lap of Saul Hadley. She would like to stay there, but Setback Number One is going to get in the way.

Will she find a way to deal with what has happened? Can she manage the complications of her growing attraction to Saul?

This hilarious situational romantic comedy will keep you gripped until the very end.

Uniquely Funny!

What a fab story!

Perdita Riley isn’t wise in the ways of the world, especially not that of men so when Violet Freestone gives her some tips on how to make herself more attractive, she wishes she hadn’t taken her advice as she now has Setback Number One to deal with. Heading off on a shopping trip to lift her mood brings her into closer contact than she would like with Saul Hadley. From here on things just get more complicated, and the setbacks start to add up.

A fabulous debut with the perfect title! This is a fun read, well-planned with delightful characters and a very different storyline to any other I’ve read. I love Perdita’s unique way of looking at things which made me giggle – often. Splendid from beginning to end and a gratifying experience as everything is tied up nicely by the final page – exactly as I like it. This is a unique tale which easily earns 4.5* and my recommendation.

My thanks to the author for my copy of her novel; this is – as always – my honest, original and unbiased review.
