A Gripping Psychological Thriller!

Now here’s a book which will give your brain – and your nerves – a work-out!

Flora and Sophie have always been best friends and, due to their traumatic childhoods, they remain as close as ever, even marrying brothers and living next door to each other. Life should be happy for them both, but then there’s the matter of their mother-in-law, Cecilia, who taunts her daughters-in-law as she considers her sons married beneath them. When she finds out that Flora and her husband are moving away, her wrath increases and strange things begin to happen in Flora’s life leaving her distraught. At the same time, Sophie’s marriage is not the happy relationship it should be – can both young women survive being a part of this family or will they have to run to regain peace of mind?

This is a story which pulled me inside out and back again! Without giving anything away, one of the scenes in the book is about my greatest horror and I read it whilst lying in bed; frankly, I deserve a gold medal (at the very least) for not shrieking, screaming the house down and – last but not least – waking my husband! After that I just had to keep on reading as there was no way I could sleep! Very cleverly plotted and well-written, I didn’t see what was happening with this one until I was right on top of the revelations and by that time the tension was palpable. Due to the content I mentioned earlier, my nerves were totally shattered by the time I reached that point. An excellent read and a gripping psychological thriller which I’m happy to recommend and give 4.5*.

My thanks to the publisher for my copy; this is – as always – my honest, original and unbiased review.
