Consent by Lizzie Greenaway #Book Review #BloodhoundBooks #5*

She never said no... she never said yes.

Sometimes the men we think we can trust are the ones we really shouldn’t trust at all.

When the lines of consent are blurred how do you ever know who is telling the truth?

Was it a night of drunken passion or a night of terror?

Molly Smith doesn’t know.

Jacob Walker-Kent did not attack her. He did not lure her down a dark alleyway. He did not beat her up.

She did not scream. She did not fight him off.

He walked her home. He was her friend. Or was he?

When the courts fail to protect us sometimes there is so much more at risk…

A compelling courtroom drama with a shocking twist, a harrowing outcome, that tackles an area of the law where justice sometimes seems impossible.

Lizzie Greenaway’s unmissable new psychological thriller Consent will appeal to fans of authors like K.L. Slater, Adele Parks and B.A. Paris.

A Strong, Powerful Read!

There’s plenty to digest between these pages – very thought provoking!

Molly Smith lived with her boyfriend Luke and regarded Jacob as a friend but his behaviour one night wasn’t what she would consider friendly. Jacob doesn’t think there’s an issue. When it all ends up in court we discover not only what happened that evening but also how it affects all those involved – not only the plaintiff and the defendant, but also the barristers on each side.

This one had me on the edge of my seat all the way through! So cleverly planned and, almost unbelievably, a debut novel! The subject matter could have been uncomfortable but this author handles it beautifully. This is not a book to forget easily, rather it will linger in my memory – especially the questions it raises. It reminds me very much of a tv drama titled Criminal Justice with Maxine Peake and Matthew MacFadyen which, although a very different story, touched on the vagaries of behaviour covered in this one and has stayed with me for many years. A strong, powerful read delivered with expertise and one I highly recommend, and happily give a full five stars.

My thanks to publisher for my copy; this is – as always – my honest, original and unbiased review.
