When Jess Rigby’s dad was lost at sea, the family coped in different ways, alone in their grief.

Now, her mum seems to be going off the rails and her sister, Isla, who moved to France, is now back and determined to get their old family home on the market. But the last thing Jess wants this Christmas is for renovations to start on the house. It’s sure to stir up all sorts of memories she’s desperate to avoid. And to make things worse, Isla appears to have hired the most obnoxious builder in the world to do the work. Jess could ignore the fact that women seem to be putty in his hands. But what she finds harder to ignore is the frisson she gets every time she squeezes past him in the mess that is now their beloved old home!

Can the family finally start talking and find a way to move on from the past this Christmas?

Rosie Green is the author of the much-loved, best-selling novellas in the LITTLE DUCK POND CAFE series. This is her first full-length Christmas book.

A  Superb  Christmas  Read!    Stars 5

Rosie Green is an author I know through her Little Duck Pond Cafe series which comprises of several fun reads; her sparkling skills have easily transferred to this full length Christmas novel!

Jess Rigby has had a very broken kind of life; with grief at the loss of her beloved father nothing has ever been the same again. Then there’s her mother, who most definitely is not quite herself these days. With her sister’s sudden reappearance from her home in France, renovations are underway at the unlived in family home and Jess isn’t sure she likes the changes at all.  Jess and the very attractive builder carrying out the works seem to get off on the wrong foot, and his personal attributes get to her – no matter how much she tries to deny it. Life is changing; but can Jess keep up?

This is a superb tale; with several different threads to keep the reader’s attention firmly on the page. With secrets, family dynamics and a possible scorching romance – not to mention all the other things going on – the writing keeps the reader firmly on track and everything morphs easily into one fascinating story. Perfectly set at this time of year, this is a read which will steal into your heart on several fronts and, trust me on this, the ending is so worth waiting for! An amazing success for this talented author who is already firmly on my watch list. A five star read, no doubt about it!

My thanks to the author for my copy, and to Rachel’s Random Resources for my spot in this tour. This is my honest, original and unbiased review.

Author Bio

Rosie Green has been scribbling stories ever since she was little.

Back then they were rip-roaring adventure tales with a young heroine in perilous danger of falling off a cliff or being tied up by ‘the baddies’.

Thankfully, Rosie has moved on somewhat, and now much prefers to write romantic comedies that melt your heart and make you smile, with really not much perilous danger involved at all, unless you count the heroine losing her heart in love.

Rosie’s brand new series of novellas is centred on life in a village cafe. The latest, ‘Bonfires & Hot Chocolate at the Little Duck Pond Cafe’, is out now.

Watch out for ‘A Winter Wedding at the Little Duck Pond Cafe’, which will be published Christmas 2019.
