Is it ever too late for love?
When Mike dumps Louise on their 20th Wedding Anniversary, her entire world comes to an end.
Devastated and confused, she attempts to make sense of what happened and returns to a city she’s avoided for two decades.
Will she be able to move on with the man she left behind or will Mike’s increasingly violent and unhinged behaviour continue to haunt and ruin her life?
When the reason Mike left her at long last is revealed Louise’s life is in serious danger.
A Moving Story!
A convincing story of a remarkable woman suffering from being dealt an enormous blow to her self-esteem by the very man who should love and protect her: her husband.
Louise is wondering what surprise her husband is going to spring on the occasion of their twentieth anniversary; when he unceremoniously dumps her without softening the blow, her world implodes. She turns to her friends for unwavering support, and struggles to move on – but Mike isn’t finished doing the dirty on her yet. What does the future hold for her? Can she survive this awful situation she unwittingly finds herself in?
This is a moving story of love, disappointment and moving on with life which I enjoyed. Set in two very different locations, I enjoyed finding out about areas I knew very little about. I did, however, think the narrative could have been more fluid and at times I found the dialogue to be a little stilted. Whilst it didn’t detract from the excellent story, it didn’t flow quite as easily as I would have liked. This is my first novel by Helene Fermont; I have another to come which I’m looking forward to. I’m happy to consider this well worth four stars.
My thanks to Sarah Hardy of Book On The Bright Side for both my copy and including me in this Blog Tour. All opinions stated here are entirely my own.
