Mother. Widow. Spy.
Eva Delacourt has been in hiding for three years after her fiancée was assassinated in cold blood outside the British embassy in Prague.
She thought she was safe.
But someone in the mysterious Section has betrayed her, and now she’s on the run for her life, sworn to protect the six-year-old boy she adores.
Her enemies are closing in, and the odds are not in Eva’s favour. For Eva, the nightmare is just beginning…
Exciting from the very first!
A new series from Rachel Amphlett is guaranteed to get me excited .. I very quickly remembered why she is one of my favourite authors!
Eva Delacourt and her son have been on the move for three years. As an employee of the British security services, Eva is a widow since her husband was murdered and has relocated continually so that his attackers don’t catch up with her and her son. Years of training has stood her in good stead and she is, like a good scout, always prepared. So when all hell breaks loose mother and son survive unscathed – which is more than can be said for the multiple bad guys. So from here on, Eva is on the run. One question needs answered in order for her to protect herself, her son and another agent who becomes unwittingly involved – who, what and why?
Exciting from the very first words, this is written in the author’s trademark style of non-stop action. This is not a book you can mull over to ponder what happens next – there is so much happening that you don’t have time to think about it – you’re too busy keeping up! And the final page will take your breath away! Not one for your wish list but one to rush out and purchase as soon as you can.
My thanks to the author for sending me a copy of this, the first in series. This is my honest, original and unbiased review.

She now wields a pen instead of a plectrum and writes crime fiction and spy novels, including the Dan Taylor espionage novels and the Detective Kay Hunter series.

She’s a member of International Thriller Writers and the Crime Writers Association, with the Italian foreign rights for her debut novel, White Gold sold to Fanucci Editore’s TIMECrime imprint, and the first four books in the Dan Taylor espionage series contracted to Germany’s Luzifer Verlag.
Her novels are available in eBook, paperback and audiobook formats from worldwide retailers including Amazon, iBooks, Kobo, and Google Play.
A keen traveller, Rachel holds both EU and Australian passports and can usually be found plotting her next trip two years in advance, usually with a crime fiction festival tacked on for good measure! You can stay in touch with Rachel via her Reader’s Group at http://www.rachelamphlett.com.
