No one was ever supposed to see her…
When Maggie sees the beautiful Venetian blinds moving in the Caldwells’ front window, she freezes. Her favorite neighbors Cady and Josh are away, so who is in their house?
The pretty young woman who answers the door tells a convincing story. She’s Sarah. The house-sitter. Just here for a month. An old friend of Cady’s who needed a place to stay. She’s pleasant and warm, and Maggie wanders back to her house thinking she might have made a new friend. Yet she can’t help but wonder why Cady never mentioned Sarah.
What Maggie doesn’t know is that on the other side of the door, Sarah is starting to panic. No one was meant to see her at 214 Palmer Street…
A Terrific Read!
Now here’s a book which will keep you on your toes!
Maggie is a good neighbour so when she sees movement in the house next door – knowing the couple are on holiday – she goes and knocks at the front door. Sarah introduces herself as the house-sitter and their conversation puts Maggie at ease; however, on her departure, Sarah is shaken .. no one was supposed to know she was living in 214 Palmer Street.
Such a tense read! It’s obvious from the beginning that Sarah is up to something but the reveal is deliciously slow, building the tension. This is one which elicited several gasps from me as I was taken by surprise at the turn of events and it is a cracking read. I wasn’t exactly sure where it was going for quite some time, but even when I did there were twists and turns to keep me glued to the pages. A terrific read, and one I heartily recommend. This is an author who never fails to deliver – an easy 5*.
I downloaded this book via Kindle Unlimited; this is – as always – my honest, original and unbiased review.
