Diary of a Contemporary Woman by Lucy Pusset #BookReview #DebutNovel #FreeLynxBooks #4*

Having reached 34, Angelique Santoro finds herself feeling trapped and deeply unhappy within the constraints of traditional relationships.

Uneasy to perform the role of life partner or girlfriend in the way society has designed for all women.

Finally, she takes the courage to break free and becomes single for the first time in 15 years. Breaking away from the ties that bind us. Breaking away from the fear of being alone and lonely to become what she was always meant to be.

Diary of a contemporary woman follows Angelique in her new life, her adventures. Utterly compelling, beautiful, honest and bold.

Angelique will have you laughing and crying at the same time, willing her on to find happiness and that rare calm within.

An Enjoyable Read!

Anyone who follows this blog will realise that this is not my normal kind of read – but stick with it!

At age 34, Angelique Santoro takes time to reconsider her life and comes to the conclusion that her long term relationship isn’t working for her so calls it a day. Newly single for the first time in a long time, she is determined to live life to the full and explore all avenues.

I must admit to being a little trepidatious at the beginning of this one; I think the word ‘erotica’ is what does it but there is more to this novel than that. I soon settled into this well-paced and well written novel. Yes, there are explicit sex scenes and while they are fairly intense, they are tasteful and, at times amusing; I did have to pause my reading to work out logistics occasionally! More than that this is a novel with a good storyline and a fine cast of characters, my absolute favourite of which just has to be Gareth -who wouldn’t love to have a friend like him? An enjoyable read, and not nearly as uncomfortable as I thought it might have been! 4*.

My thanks to the author for my copy of her novel; this is – as always – my honest, original and unbiased review.
