Married for ten years, they are heading for a remote home but when they get there it’s not exactly what they was expected – in fact, it’s not at all romantic; but then, perhaps neither of them are what was expected either . . .

I got into this story pretty quickly; the anniversary letters written over the years was a good way to catch up on what had gone previously and, although there were a few little implausible niggles here and there, they all disappeared into the ether as the story advanced. Creepy and atmospheric in places, this was definitely a character-led tale and one which grabbed me by the throat. With twists and turns galore, the revelations shocked me to the core. Definitely didn’t see them coming! An original and suspenseful novel which I’m happy to recommend and give 4.5*.

Author Details

Alice Feeney’s debut novel, Sometimes I Lie, was a New York Times and international bestseller. It has been translated into over twenty languages, and is being made into a TV series by Ellen DeGeneres and Warner Bros. starring Sarah Michelle Gellar. His & Hers is also being adapted for screen by Jessica Chastain’s Freckle Films.

Alice was a BBC Journalist for fifteen years, and now lives in the British countryside with her family. Rock Paper Scissors is her fourth novel and is being made into a TV series for Netflix by the producer of The Crown. It will be published around the world in 2021.
