A murdered woman…
When the body of a young woman is found in a local park, DC Maggie Jamieson knows she’s dealing with no ordinary killer. The murder victim has been disfigured; her outfit changed to resemble someone else. Someone Maggie knows all too well…her close friend Dr Kate Moloney.
A determined detective…
Maggie is determined to keep her friend safe, but with Kate already struggling with a threatening stalker, Maggie now fears Kate’s life is in real danger. Who else would want to harm Kate and why else would the killer be turning his victims into exact replicas – his living dolls?
Can Maggie find the depraved killer? Or will Kate become his next living doll?
Good, but with Blatant Clues!
I’ve been so looking forward to this one – the third book in an absolutely terrific series!
When Maggie is called to the latest crime scene where a body has been found in the local park, she is appalled to see the deceased has been made to resemble her good friend, Dr Kate Moloney. As if things weren’t bad enough with Kate having acquired a stalker, the latest developments put Maggie and the rest of the team on high alert. But why Kate? And why the strange look-alikes?
As with the previous novels, this is a well-planned thriller with a great mix of personal and professional making it a very appealing read. Plenty of twists, turns and unexpected developments plus an insight into what comes next at the very end – very cleverly done. Maggie Jamieson is a beautifully developed, multi-faceted character and her gut feeling is never to be ignored. This one is everything I hoped it would be but it was rather spoiled by the clues as to the perpetrator’s identity which I picked up on very quickly as I began reading. From then on it was just a matter of reading until he was caught. Perhaps my detective instincts were just particularly alert today, but it did rather take the shine off the book for me. It’s still a good crime thriller though, and one I’m happy to give four stars.
My thanks to the publisher for my copy via NetGalley and to Book on The Bright Side for my spot on this tour; this is – as always – my honest, original and unbiased review.

Thanks so much, Grace! Yes – the clues were definitely all there as this book was about the WHY and not so much the WHO – but good instincts as many people still didn’t guess! I’ll share after work, just wanted to thank you for being a part of the tour.
