Curl up with a mug of hot chocolate and a warm mince pie for the perfect festive read this holiday season!

‘I wish I could live your life. I’d happily swap lives with you.’

’Tis the season to be jolly but for Calvin and Judy the usual festive bickering has already begun! Judy’s convinced that her husband has it easy – no glittery wrapping paper, no playground gossip and absolutely no Christmas baking.

Calvin wishes he could trade in his obnoxious boss and dull nine-to-five job to spend more time kicking back with his kids – how hard can Judy’s life really be?

But after a magical mince pie mix-up, one thing’s for certain – by Christmas Day, life for Judy and Calvin will never be the same again.

Perhaps the grass isn’t always greener after all …

A hilarious, feel-good festive read, perfect to curl up with this Christmas. Fans of Carole Matthews, Jane Costello and Mandy Baggot will love this story! As will fans of Freaky Friday or 13 Going on 30!

Riotously Funny!      stars 5

Last month (April 2020) I was lucky enough to win a giveaway by Jennifer Joyce on Twitter and, given a choice between her books I chose this one – and I’m glad I did.

Calvin and Judy have two kids; with Christmas fast approaching Judy’s to-do list is getting longer by the hour and she struggles to fit it all in. Calvin, meanwhile, drives to work each day, suffers at the hands of his demanding boss and returns home each day totally shattered with nothing left to give. Both of them think they are hard done by and the other has it easy. So when they wish they were each other, a magical fairy running interference gives them the chance to find out!

I love Jennifer Joyce’s writing which is, of course, why I entered the giveaway in the first place. I couldn’t wait to slot her novel into my list so slipped it in at the first opportunity. So, there I was, on one of the hottest days of the year on my sun lounger in the shade of the gazebo, giggling away at what is a riotously funny book set during the festive season! I’m not sure what tickled me most: the hilarious happenings to her or to him – and then there was the ‘alternative’ dictionary which cracked me up! Everything about this story entertained me and it’s a great pity we can’t arrange a similar swap in real life! A feel-good read which would brighten up any reader’s day – even in the middle of summer, so imagine how it could lift spirits in the mad rush of Christmas. Highly recommended and well worth all five sparkling stars!

My grateful thanks to the author for my prize; this is – as always – my honest, original and unbiased review.
