Ellie’s plan to turn a neighbouring barn into a venue to teach bread-making skills is under way – but when the construction work interferes with the smooth running of the cafe, she comes up with a plan that lifts the hearts of all the Little Duck Pond Café crew.

They’ll close for a month and take a well-earned break in the tiny Cornish village of Pengully Sands, where Sylvia’s sister, Agatha, owns a holiday home. With the glorious golden sands, sparkling azure sea and an ice cream parlour only yards away, it seems like the perfect location to relax and watch the surfers riding the waves (and maybe even having a go themselves).

But when they arrive, the girls find it isn’t quite the seaside idyll they were expecting. The house is less ‘holiday home’ and more ‘creepy, dilapidated haunted house’. And the ice cream parlour is sad and run down. Gracie, who runs it, is battling problems of her own, and the last thing she needs is a group of high-spirited girls arriving to disturb the peace and isolation she has so carefully cultivated for herself. And when a handsome stranger threatens her livelihood, it seems like the last straw. Can Gracie find her happy ever after – and even make friends with the Little Duck Pond Cafe girls next door?

This definitely won’t be the relaxing break the girls had planned. But that doesn’t mean it won’t turn out to be the holiday of a lifetime!

A Fun, Entertaining Read!      stars 5

Another entertaining and enjoyable tale from the Little Duck Pond Cafe!

With massive building works underway at the store, Ellie takes the decision to close the business for a month. Sylvia’s sister owns a holiday cottage in the Cornish coastal town of Pengully Sands, and she has arranged a deal for the girls to get away from it all. They arrive to find it’s not so much holiday cottage as rundown-in-need-of-desperate-measures cottage. Even the ice cream parlour next door looks a bit shabby; is their holiday over before it begins?

This is a lovely series and I always open each book knowing I’m going to enjoy what’s inside. This one is a little different though, but still fun! Rosie Green has created a wonderful mix of characters, all with their own idiosyncrasies but this time around their challenges are a little different. There is so much going on that there’s not a moment wasted! With wonderful descriptions of the area, the author’s easy flowing narrative makes for a fun, happy read with lots of laughter along the way. All books in this series have fabulous covers and this one is no exception; very appropriate to the content! An excellent five star read, worth every single sparkling star!

My thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources both for my copy and my spot on this tour; this is – as always – my honest, original and unbiased review.

Rosie Green has been scribbling stories ever since she was little. Back then they were rip-roaring adventure tales with a young heroine in perilous danger of falling off a cliff or being tied up by ‘the baddies’. Thankfully, Rosie has moved on somewhat, and now much prefers to write romantic comedies that melt your heart and make you smile, with really not much perilous danger involved at all, unless you count the heroine losing her heart in love.

Rosie’s brand new series of novellas is centred on life in a village cafe. Confetti at the Little Duck Pond Cafe will be the sixth in the series.
