His quest for the truth reveals a deadly secret

Private detective Anthony “Tony” Alpo is going through a bad patch. His clients keep turning up dead. His reputation is sinking fast and creditors are hot on his heels. Just when things look their worst, fate intervenes in the form of a gorgeous blonde who hires him to find out why her husband’s dead body ended up at the bottom of a cliff.
Dazzled by a beautiful blonde client with money to burn, Alpo doesn’t have many misgivings about taking the case. But he soon finds himself following the trail of the dead man’s love child through the slums of Rio de Janeiro in the most dangerous case of his career.

Will Alpo find romance with his client’s best friend? Will he escape with his own life? Nothing is certain.

A New Favourite P.I.!    5-stars

Meet Tony Alpo, who would be the first to tell you he’s just a fairly ordinary guy with a PI license. This case, however, shows that we’d all rather have him on our side than the other one!

When Caryn Wheldon hires Tony to look into the death of her late husband, he hopes his fortunes have changed and takes the case very seriously indeed. Little did he know where his investigation was going to take him . . .

This is a great read! Things move along at quite a pace – life with Tony Alpo has never a dull moment. The characters are many and varied; the several locations are stunning. The writing flows from beginning to end, urging the reader to stay with it; as soon as one puzzle is solved, another has opened up and there is always something to focus your attention.  As well as the seriousness of investigating a man’s death, there are plenty of lighter moments and it all adds up to a stunning read! I was so happy to read that the author intends to write more with this character, and I shall really look forward to publication day. Mystery entertainment at it’s very best, and I consider myself very lucky to have read Dennis Ecklund’s work. Highly recommended – and then some!

My thanks to the author for my copy of his novel. I chose to read and review this of my own free will, and the opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

Meet the Author

61h9bhvoeal._ux250_Dennis Ecklund was born in a motel room a stone’s throw away from the Rio Grande River in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Dec. 1, 1946. He lost his father at an early age. He worked nights as a dishwasher to help support his mother and younger sister at age 13. He’s worn many hats since then. Among other things, he knows how to shoe a horse, scrape a boat, repair any old Volkswagen, short-order cook, machine anything, edit a newspaper, run a photo darkroom, and design a magazine. “Nowadays I take care of my wife and three cats,” Ecklund said. “I grow tomatoes when it’s warm enough, and when there’s time, I write.”
