One family torn apart by secrets and betrayals.
Over twenty years ago, Kate’s dream came true. After years of struggling, she was finally pregnant after pioneering IVF. But the dream came at a cost. Neither Kate nor her husband, Dan, could have known the price that they would have to pay to fulfil their cherished wish of having their own family.
Now, years later, their daughter Natalie is getting married and she’s fulfilling her own dream of marrying her childhood sweetheart. Natalie knows she won’t be like most brides in her wheelchair, but it’s the fact her father won’t be there to walk her down the aisle that breaks her heart.
Her siblings, Ollie, Beth and Jenny, gather around Natalie, but it isn’t just their father who is missing from their lives… as the secrets that have fractured the family rise to the surface, can they learn to forgive each other before it’s too late?
Compulsive and Thought-Provoking Read!
More than just a family drama, this novel is packed with secret, betrayals and deception and full of unexpected twists and turns.
Kate and Dan wanted a family but didn’t quite realise what they would have to go through to achieve their dream. This is the story of their lives over twenty years and more, and it’s a fascinating tale.
Getting to know the Campbell parents and offspring makes for interesting reading; we meet the members singly as well as a family unit. With an upcoming wedding, it is an eventful book. A beautifully woven tale merging all the happenings into a compulsive and thought provoking read. Well written, this author knows how to pull the readers in and keep them hooked. What you see isn’t always what you get and the revelations come at all speeds, so it’s wise to keep your wits about you. This is a damaged family – in more ways than one and it gives much food for thought. Was the cost of creating a family too high? Read the book and find out!

Meet the Author
Vivien Brown lives in Uxbridge, Middlesex, with her husband and two cats. For most of her life she has immersed herself in words – as an avid reader, writer, poet, library outreach worker, storyteller, gifter of Bookstart packs to babies and toddlers, creative writing tutor and crossword fanatic. She enjoys dipping into dictionaries and exploring the meaning of words, and watching and/or taking part in TV quiz shows. In the evenings she loves nothing more than losing herself in a good book, a compelling TV drama or her regular supply of women’s magazine short stories – which all help to provide inspiration and ideas for her own fiction.
What a lovely surprise and thanks so much for your thoughtful review. So glad you enjoyed my book!
