Completely Original Gripping Read!   5 stars

When I began reading this novel, I wasn’t quite sure where it was going. I hadn’t even reached the end of the first chapter before I was completely hooked! As promised, it is an easy read.

Richard is a young, very successful man; he makes more than enough money in his career and has the beautiful Sophie as his wife and two beautiful and talented children. Life is, in fact, perfect. Or .. is it? On the surface, the Beaumonts had the perfect family life. Whilst Richard quite often travelled on business, Sophie maintained her high standards of perfection in and out of the home. But Sophie had secrets, and this book is all about the truth coming out.

What a read this is! I began reading in bed one night and tiredness and medication overcame or I would have read til dawn. As it was, I completed the book by the following afternoon. Once the revelations start coming, it’s hard to let this one go. Even if you think you’re unshockable, there will be something in this which will have that very effect. The surprises just keep coming. This is one novel I’m glad not to have missed, and not for the first time I find myself amazed at the talent of a debut novellist. This a stunning, awesome read and one which I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending. In fact, I would urge you to add it to your tbr list as fast as you can write it down!

My thanks to author L M Barrett for drawing my attention to her book. My copy came via Kindle Unlimited. This is my honest, original and unbiased review.

A Reflection of Sophie Beaumont is the debut novel by L M Barrett. After living in Bristol for ten years, she now lives in Javea, Spain with her husband and two children. Lorraine always wanted to write a book, but office jobs got in the way so she was finally able to give it a go once living in Spain. She enjoyed it immensely, especially writing about such a flawed character like Sophie and hopes to be able to follow it up with more books in the near future. Lorraine enjoys reading, hanging out with the kids, learning Spanish and skiing.
